Laura Epler was born in Evanston, Illinois on June 27th, 1953.
She was awarded a grant to study studio art and painting at the New York Parsons School of Design's campus in Paris, France.
She has exhibited her work in Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Berlin, Cuzco, Toronto, Chicago, San Francisco, Oakland, and Santa Fe. There are over 200 of her works in private collections. A major collector is Helen Dickerson, a docent for thirty two years with the Smithsonian American Art Museum and Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden.
In 2009, Epler was named one of America's Best Mixed Media Artists. Epler will be featured in Best of Worldwide Mixed Media Artists, a book also published by Adam P. and Renee Kennedy scheduled to be released in 2012.
Ms. Epler was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and holds undergraduate degrees with highest honors in liberal arts with an emphasis in cultural and intellectual history, art history, and religious studies.
